Piko G Digital System Click to see our notes on basic digital control The
Piko Digital System allows for simultaneous
independent control of multiple locomotives on a track
section. This requires each locomotive to be fitted
with a decoder which is also mandatory for fitting a
digital sound card. The sound card draws its power
from the locomotive decoder via a SUSI connection.
All
three decoders supplied by PIKO have many outstanding
features, these are just a few examples. They are
NMRA/DCC compatible with LGB MTS. Have dim-able light
and function outputs. Overload and thermal protection
for motor and function outputs. All three decoders are
configurable via the PIKO Navigator Remote or
compatible DCC system. They can auto detect analog
operation. And they are designed to retrofit into
existing screw holes in the Locomotive housing without
having to drill new holes.
The fitting of the decoder is
relatively easy. In most cases it is not necessary to
remove the locomotive body shell. The BR 64 does
require the shell to be removed and this can be
tricky due to the fact that the instructions do not
clearly state each step. However we have written a
paper that takes you through each phase of the
experience to avoid turning a the job into a 6 hour
epic.
