A Bit About Garden Trains and Us.
Our nursery is situated in the Dandenongs, east of Melbourne. We supply plants, bulbs, trains and books for the garden.
We have been selling garden trains for over 16 years and have considerable experience in setting up a layout in the garden.
We are aware of many of the pitfalls and this allows us to give sound advice based on our personal experiences.
As well as the free advice we also offer an installation service at reasonable rates.
Garden Trains are very popular in overseas gardens. They are easy to run, affordable and a great deal of fun.
The weather proof track consists of 45mm gauge brass track, set on ultra violet safe PVC sleepers. To enhance the realism the rail can be laid on a bed of fine screenings.
The
locomotives, carriages and wagons are made of automotive quality
plastics which enables them to be used outdoors and to withstand
weathering. (However it is no advisable to leave locomotives
consistently in the rain).
The locomotives run from a 240 volt power control which is set up out of the weather in either the garage or a shed with power available. The power supply from the controller is 18 volts and is quite safe in the garden.
The most economical way of delivering
the power to
the track, from the controller, is by the use of 5 or 7 core trailer
wire, (also available from our nursery).
Garden
trains are certainly fun for the whole family.Your garden becomes the
scenery with natural rocks, rockery plants and miniature bulbs
enhancing a rather nostalgic extension to the garden.
Certainly a great way to get Dad and the boys interested in the garden and bringing the family together with a common interest!
For us, the idea of a train running
through the
garden landscaped with living miniature plants, natural rock
features, and real water is very appealing.
From
time to time we hold "Train days" at our nursery where you
